The incident took place around 9:35 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Maxus Worldwide Nutrition building on Executive Boulevard, in East Farmingdale, leaving a large hole in the side of the building, said the Suffolk police said.

Police said a K-9 unit and firefighters with thermal imaging cameras searched the area for victims, but no one was injured.

The fast-moving storms left some 36,000 Suffolk County customers without power Thursday evening, said PSEG Long Island. Most had been restored by Friday, Aug. 23.

Police said the cause of the collapse was not immediately confirmed.
